Invincible Summer

One of my favorite quotes of all time:

"In the depth of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer."
Albert Camus

When I was in Junior High School, I cut that quote out of a magazine, posted it on a piece of dark blue construction paper, along with a photo of a bright summer day. Every day, I struggle to find that invincible summer and try to grab on to at least a few strands of inner sunshine.

How about you? What makes you feel sunny inside?

Beautiful picture Chelle. I save photos (usually of flowers and mountains) from calendar pages and rotate them on my refrigerator door to bring color into the dark days of winter. Works really well!

Planning what I'll wear each day makes me feel sunny. I just love the colors in my closet, and on the dresser where the jewelry lives. I get to choose a scarf or multicolored hair ties for my hair, colorful or shiny earrings, fun socks. Then which coat and which shawl/scarf, when I go out.

Seeing colors next to one another is such a joy to me. I spend happy time deciding which color to put next to which other one.

Color. Especially clothing, I guess.

Or hearing a child giggle.

Great image. I have images of my backyard in August that warm my heart.

I try to make a list of all that I am grateful for in my life. And it starts with big items, then goes to little items, and I either have a really long list that day, or something on the list is so ridiculous that I have to smile at the humour of it.
