A high-energy blogger, knitter, reader (and sometimes writer) who does mainly knitting, who loves knitting LACE. I love making lace shawls as well as comfy prayer shawls. I'm even more crazy about SPINNING. My favorite wheel is the old 1970's Ashford Traddy that once belonged to my Grammy. Now I've even stepped onto the Weaving path. Huh? Yeah. Just a bit. Onto the Rigid Heddle Weaving path with my Kromski Harp.
Oh Celle hugs and luv to your daughter. Every year there are these tragic happenings and when they happen to those close to us they just hurt more. May the pain of the tragedy soon fade but the memories of the friendship help her grow stronger. I'm so sorry.
Oh, wow. Loss is always hard, but when the person lost is young it is magnified immensely.
Remind your daughter to be kind to herself, and to share with those who are safe when she can. Some people will not understand, or they will think grief is only for a week or two. Grief comes in waves, when you are not expecting it. The waves come less often as time flies, but it's amazing how long the process takes.
And isn't crying a tribute to the one we loved? I figure when I die I hope there are a few who cry a lot. Or I didn't live my life as fully as I intended, you know? What is life without relationship.
Oh, drat. I'm saying maybe too much. But I've been there, lost people young more than once, learned a lot about it in the process.
Gentle. Concentrate on food and sleep whenever it's possible. At first it's food and rest, and not much of either. Gentle.

Hugs and good thoughts for your daughter in this difficult time.
Thanks for your kind words and support for me, too.
